Elf on the Shelf Day 4

Poor Jolly spent all night in the fridge! That's what he gets for coloring the milk green! Good thing he had his handmade earmuffs and scarf available.

Elf on the Shelf Day 2

Silly Jolly-- he's taking a marshmallow bath in the sink!

Ryan thought this was hilarious.

The kid also has no problem eating dirty bath water :)

What I love is that even at 2.5 years old, Ryan gets this. Standing outside his door this morning, I heard him say "Santa said open the door!" We went into his bedroom and the first words out of Ryan's mouth were "Jolly's gone! He flew to the North Pole with Santa and didn't come back!"

He was thrilled when we explained that he probably *did* fly back, but he's just hiding somewhere else in the house.

We walked downstairs to the main floor bathroom where the door was open (the door is NEVER open b/c Ryan's OCD-ish tendencies makes sure it's always closed) so he knew exactly where to look. He cracked up laughing when he saw Jolly in the sink.

Elf on the Shelf- Day 1

Jolly brought Ryan his very own Christmas tree for his bedroom! I'm pretty sure it came straight from the North Pole, too.

(And by North Pole, I mean last year's office Christmas Party. I won this tree at the party. It was filled with gift cards. As a bonus, when I brought up the tree this year to put in RJ's room, I found a Target gift card that I had missed last year! Score!)

Before and after

The other day I rearranged the furniture in our dining room because we're hosting Christmas Eve dinner and need more space.

Moving the large china cabinet down the wall left a huge open space that was just begging to be filled.

Before:

After:

Craig's been asking for a photo collage wall for several years so this rearrangement worked out for several reasons.

It really open ups the room and displays some of our favorite pictures from the past year.

I love it!

Nice to meet you

RJ decided on a name for the Elf...

Jolly

North Pole Breakfast

Our new tradition was a success! Ryan awakened to find that *someone* left a trail of marshmallows in the house....

Which led us to the North Pole Breakfast and the Elf!

Such a fun morning. Most of all, Ryan seemed to enjoy the little bottle of Christmas M&M's. Not the homemade French Toast Muffins or the sugar cookies lollipops with homemade Royal Icing and sprinkles or the green pancakes. He ate everything, but really liked pouring out the M&M's onto his plate and eating them :)

No name for the Elf yet, although we are very excited to see what mischievous adventures he find himself in this holiday season....
